Keri

Close by at Keri Lake, a geological fault has caused small tar pools known as the 'Herotodus spring'. Traditional the tar was used for caulking ships.

The village has many beautiful Venetians building which survived the 1953 earthquake. The highlight is the Church of the Panayia of Keri, who is reputed to have saved the island from pirates by shrouding Zante in a dense sea mist.
