Some of the most spectacular cliffs can be seen at Keri.
The rocks are called Large Myzithra Small Myzithra
The village of Keri at the southern tip of the island is famous for
its lighthouse, located on the cliffs one kilometre above the village.
The cliffs are very dangerous and access to the small beaches below
can be made by boat from Ayios Leon and Porto Vromi.
From the sea, you can admire the crystal-clear waters around the Keri
Caves.
Close by at Keri Lake, a geological fault has caused small tar pools
known as the 'Herotodus spring'. Traditional the tar was used for
caulking ships.
The
village has many beautiful Venetians building which survived the
1953 earthquake. The highlight is the Church of the Panayia of Keri,
who is reputed to have saved the island from pirates by shrouding
Zante in a dense sea mist.
